Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Over the 4th of July weekend I had the chance to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Let me preface that I am a big fan of all the Apatow productions projects that I have seen. 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and Superbad are all great comedies, and his tv work on Undeclared and Freaks & Geeks have become bigger successes on DVD then they were when they originally aired on tv. Well in my humble opinion Forgetting Sarah Marshall easily matches up to all of these. This is the story of a man who is dumped by his hot actress girlfriend, and tries to get away from the memory of her by going to Hawaii, only to find that she is there with her new beau who happens to be an equally hot English pop star. The star of the movie Jason Segal also wrote the movie, and as in many of his other roles, he thrives in the awkward humor. The scenery in this movie is amazing, and the background of Hawaii isn’t tough to look at either. As most of you know Kristen Bell is number 2 on my list of women I would marry tomorrow if given the chance. This movie only reaffirms that. Mila Kunis also stars, and makes a good case to infiltrate the top 5 herself. Anyway back to the film, to me this may be the funniest of the bunch. It toes the line between good clean humor and raunchy. I really loved this movie, and I recommend it to anyone who is not easily offended. I really believe this is the funniest movie of the year, and I haven’t seen a movie upcoming that will knock it off that perch.
