MTV plays music videos again…sort of
I have spent a lot of time recently in front of the TV, and I find myself turning to MTV. They have this new thing called FN MTV which is supposed to be bringing music videos back to the channel that used to be videos 24/7. Well After watching 2 hours of this, I am scratching my head. I have seen parts of the same 5 videos like 7 times, but I have not seen any in there entirety. I love Weezer, Snoop Dogg, and Watching the Pussycat Dolls. I haven’t heard of the Ting Ting’s but the video seems innovative. Flo Rida is a typical rap video. But that’s it, in 2 hours, 5 videos that are approximately 4 minutes each. Dedicating 2 hours to videos is a step in the right direction for the channel that has been turned into the reality TV network, but come on. Show me 2 hours of different videos, hell if you want to promote artists which is what it seems like this show does, play music blocks. Watching 3 different videos from the same 5 artists would be much more tolerable than trying to piece together 1 video over the course of 2 hours. Oh wow, they just added a new Linkin Park video into the rotation, now we are up to 6. At least VH1 has been playing the whole New Kids on the Block video, and they only play it once an hour.
